Some people love to shop. I am not one of them, and I certainly don’t come back from holiday with my bags full of designer goods.
But it occurred to me that I should spend more money when I’m away — not on luxury items, but on cheap basics.
Depending on the destination, everyday items — toiletries, snack products and so on — can be dramatically cheaper than at home.
And if you have excess baggage capacity, it might be a wise move to stock up on the things you really need rather than the souvenirs you really have no use for.
