Where to find the best 4G

Where in the world would you expect to get the better 4G mobile coverage: Romania or Great Britain?

4G or 3G? That is the question

The answer might surprise you: it’s not Britain, According to the National Infrastructure Commission, the United Kingdom has worse coverage than Romania, Peru and Panama.

According to this report, Britain is 54th in the world for 4G coverage, and has far too many “digital deserts” where access is non-existent.

So much for the worst, where in the world are the best places?

According to a “state of LTE” report released this year, the best places for 4G coverage — that is, availability across the country — are South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Netherlands, Singapore, United States, Uruguay, Hungary, Taiwan, Norway, Qatar, Sweden, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates.

The places with the fastest 4G are Singapore, New Zealand, Hungary, Israel, South Korea, Romania, Denmark, Australia, UAE, Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Norway, Oman and Canada.

The report notes that much of Europe relies heavily on the older 3G standard, saying: “In Germany, Italy, France and the UK, the chances a 4G subscriber will connect to an LTE network are little better than a coin flip.”
